Surprise date

My boyfriend again surprised me by showing up at my house bright and early to take me on a lovely date! I almost didn't believe him because I knew he had things to do that day and wouldn't be free until around 3-4pm but I guess not!  We went to San Pedro area because I've always wanted to see the Korean friendship bell and Cabrillo Marine aquarium. On the way there the area looked really nice near the harbor went over 2 high bridges to get there nice view.

The view from the Korean friendship bell was amazing on a nice bright sunny day!  We made our way down the hill to Point Fermin Park the park has tables right next to the cliff great for picnics and watching the sunset. There is also a light house but we didn't check it out. We then headed to Cabrillo Marine aquarium parking is $1 per hour so it’s not bad. For the most part I think it’s free to get into the aquarium but it is suggested donation of $5 per person.  It’s pretty nice for a small aquarium they have a touch tank but it’s only open during a certain time not sure if it’s every hour but it’s nice, follow the blue line on the ground to get to the touch tank.  There are a couple different kinds of starfish, sea anemone, sea urchins that you can touch in the shallow side. Towards the backside of the touch tank the deeper side that you can't touch, there are different kinds of fish, sharks and I think he said an eel.  The aquarium is also located in front of the beach.

After all that we went to have lunch and started heading home didn't want to hit traffic and get stuck on the 405! We were going to get some frozen yogurt but I convinced him to let me go check out some shoes I’ve wanted to try hehehe :) but after I bought him some Italian ice to make it up for dragging him around shoe shopping.  For dinner we went to Claws Restaurant and for the first time EVER we had to wait a really long time!  I've never waited more than 10 minutes but this time from the time we got there to the time we left 3 damn hours! People that got there after us got seated before us which was ridicules! The only reason I put up with it is because my boyfriend loves this place and we barely come here because he lives so far and there isn't any restaurant of this type in his area.  Our waitress was extremely nice though so it kind of made up for it and my boyfriend was super sweet I went to the restroom to wash my hands came back and another waiter popped out of nowhere with ice cream for me. I had the most confused look on my face I didn't know my boyfriend told them it was my birthday.  So over all the surprise date was awesome even with some bumps in the road. :)

Boyfriend moved to Victorville

My boyfriend moved to Victorville for a certain reason and I’m so bummed about it.  I guess it’s not that far but I hate driving so it feels like a billion miles away!  Not too sure when we’ll have time to see each other because he has extern at the hospital during the week and gets out at random times and I help my dad at his work place on the weekends.  That’s how we had time to see each other after I get out of work because he only lived less than 5 minutes away from my dad’s work.  BUT now he lives way over there so I can’t see him on the weekends or randomly during the week anymore.  I’m trying to keep a positive outlook on things like my boyfriend said just be positive it’ll be fine everything will work out.  Last week was extremely hard felt like the worst week of my life which it should have been one of the best because my birthday was last week. But it was just so hectic, stressful, and frustrating with my boyfriend moving and other things I don’t want to mention, I was in break down mode.

Anyways yesterday my boyfriend randomly stopped by my house to surprise me!  He is so sweet!  Brought me some flowers and we talked for a bit I didn't want to let him go when we hugged goodbye he was on his way to Victorville.  He definitely made my day just to see him even if it was for a little bit the fact that he took that extra side trip just to surprise me he’s definitely a keeper! I will eventually make my way up there one of these days.  I just hate driving by myself in the dark and it’s like what 45 minutes of driving in the dark mountains from Victorville to get to the first city?  Maybe the first couple of times I drive there I’ll ask my brother if he would be kind enough to come with me. We shall see. :)

First attempt at making Pretzels!

It was super cold the other day and it look like it was about to rain.  Craving pretzels I didn't want to drive out just to get a pretzel.  So I was wondering if I could make it but wasn't sure if I had all the ingredients. Surprisingly I did! I've never made pretzels before so I had no idea how it would turn out.  I didn't have an electric stand mixer so I used my hand mixer to help mix in the flour and the liquids together.  After it was all mix I knead the dough for a while until it was all smooth.  Anyways the result it was great! It was crunchy on the outside fluffy on the inside!  I made salt, cinnamon, and plain pretzels.  Next time I need to try and make the dough even! I can’t wait to make these again! My boyfriend loves the pepperoni ones from wetzels pretzels so in my next attempt I will be making those for him! Can’t wait!

End of January plus February update

I ended January in the worst way by getting sick again! The worst part was my ears were plugged for 2 weeks even after I got over being sick it was driving me crazy I sounded sick all the time!  When I finally got one ear to pop it was when I was driving on the freeway.  Everything was extremely loud it hurt! Such horrible timing. I got my right ear to pop couple days later.  But now when ever my ears plug up I always have to try and pop them right away because  I'm always scared or paranoid it'll stay like that for a couple days to weeks again!  What I took to help me get over this congestion was Sudafed Pressure + Pain.

Anyways so February was so eventful! First my cousin gave birth to her first kid she's so adorable looks just like her dad.  Then it was Chinese New Year which I celebrated with my family,  and Valentine's Day. It was one of the best Valentine’s Day I've had ever! It was stress free not thinking about how to plan the perfect Valentine’s Day and just do what was simple and fun made it so much easier to have fun.

My boyfriend and I put a budget on our spending so we wouldn't go to crazy over board with the whole Valentine thing. I made him a few different kinds of chocolates and his favorite chocolate covered pretzels which I made in white chocolate and milk chocolate, I also made some of each with coconuts shreds. It tasted so good with the coconuts!

What he got me was a big surprise! I've never got a giant card before and what he wrote in there made me tear up a little bit. He also got me stuff animal, candy, and a coach sunglass. Talk about putting a budget on gifts! I love it all! He's the sweetest guy in the world always surprising me! I love him!

So our plan for the day was to get some breakfast and watch movies bum at home. We were starting a rush hour marathon but decided to watch another movie he really wanted to see after the first rush hour but we both ended up falling asleep.

So after we woke up from our nap we were talking about what to do. We end up going to Morongo casino since he has never been there. It was about an hour drive.

It was so much fun I’ve never really gambled much and we didn’t lose! Morongo did us good! :) This time.

I don't know what was going on, on Valentine’s Day with how people were driving but there was so many accidents going to and coming home from Morongo! I've never seen so many accidents in one day. It wasn't just small bumper hits either, most of the ones I saw were really bad. Everyone just needed to slow down and chill out that day. I felt so bad I hope no one was seriously hurt. We almost got into an accident our self with this van instead of slowing down for a big rig that was going to merge into the vans lane, the van decided to swerve so quick into our lane. So glad my boyfriend had a quick reaction and braked and swerved out a little and I’m glad no one was behind us. I have no idea what he was thinking the big rig was nowhere near him anyways and the lane doesn’t even finish merging until after we past the sharp curve.  It was a super scary moment and the van knew he messed up because he took off so quick away from us when before he was driving slowly.

Anyways we came home early got some frozen yogurt and made chicken quesadilla for dinner with a copy cat recipe of taco bell chipotle sauce I think that’s what it’s called.  Over all it was an amazing day one of the best valentines so far! :)


On a side note this month is also the month one of my best friend passed away.  It's been 8 years, even though you aren't around anymore you're always in our thoughts.  We miss you and love you so much! R.I.P Caitlin Oto!  You were truly an amazing person and I'm glad we got to become the best of friends in this life time. <3

Bum Day Sunday

The weather has been so nice for the past week beautiful sunny light cool breeze! It’s one of those perfect days.  It’s a nice change from freezing weather wonder how long it will last. Yes I know I don’t have much to complain about since other states right now are like 12 degrees and below 0 plus snow but hey it doesn’t drop down that low where I live in California so when it gets to a certain temperature it’s freezing for us!

Finally got to see Pitch Perfect! Rented it from redbox it was pretty funny.  After that my boyfriend and our brothers went out front to skate on the ripstik and the wave board street surfer. I didn’t try because I'm scared to fall. -_-  BUT! One day I will make myself get over it and learn.

Anyways I’m supposed to go see the movie “A Haunted House” sometime this week hopefully!  It looks super funny! I love Shawn and Marlon Wayans! I've watched them growing up and they are still awesome! Although I don't think Shawn is in this movie but! I still can’t wait to see it!

Christmas to New Years.

So it’s almost 2 weeks since I wrote on here ops.  Totally forgot about it with all the holiday celebrating and getting sick. So time to reminisce the last 2 weeks what has been going on.

Starting with Christmas, I wasn’t feeling too good I was starting to get sick caught it from my boyfriend who was sick couple days before. Anyways I was hosting a small dinner get together just my boyfriend, my brother, my cousins, and their boyfriends. What was on the menu was super simple the main dish was Lok Lak which is stir fried beef over lettuce tomato and cucumber and a side dressing of lemon juice, mix with pepper and salt serve with rice.  I also made mabo tofu which is just tofu stir fry with ground beef and mabo sauce.  My little cousin was craving sushi so I made California rolls and since I had left over crab meat I made crab cream cheese wonton.  For dessert I made my awesome chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting and the night before I was super bored and had half a bag of chocolate chunks lying around so I decided to melt it and make designs out of it to decorate the cupcakes!

After dinner we played games on the ps3 after everyone left my boyfriend and I fell asleep and woke up around 5am and decided to head to his place and just spend the day there. Taking 2 different cars so I can just drive home myself later probably wasn’t such a smart idea. It was raining so hard and driving on the freeway was horrible couldn’t see anything with all the big truck kicking up the water.  We finally made it to his place we both took Nyquil and it knocked us out for most of the day!  I was feeling horrible got worse and he was still sick.  He was being such a sweetheart I’ve never had a boyfriend take care of me when I was sick before so it was really different.  He went out and bought Vicks rub and eucalyptus oil so I can breathe and made sure I had everything I needed to feel a little better.  When we finally got out of bed and some food in us we watched a movie and played a board game with his family. By the end of the night I was so exhausted couldn’t stay awake so I took a little nap before heading home.  My boyfriend decided he would drive behind me to make sure I got home safely since all day I was having a hard time staying awake.  That is so sweet and thoughtful!

The next couple of days were a blur.  All I did was take Nyquil and slept a lot to try and beat this cold.  By the weekend I was still feeling a little sick but way better! We were planning on going to Knott’s since I had free tickets but it was raining sucks. We needed to kill time until my little cousin bday dinner so we went to see Les Miserables.  For new years we didn’t do anything stayed home and relax.  We want to plan a trip to maybe Big Bear or San Francisco.  But I don’t know I need to find a good snow boot if we are planning on going to big bear.  Anyways that was my holiday oh my boyfriend got me this awesome portable laptop rolling table cart thing.  It’s pretty awesome since my room is small I don’t have space for a table but now I don’t need one!  The wheels just rolls right under my bed and the table can be adjust to angle down so it’s comfortable. I love it!

For the New Year I’ve decided to do this thing I saw on tumblr.  It says “Start 2013 off with an empty jar and fill it with notes about good things that happen.  On new year’s eve, empty it and see what awesome stuff happened that year.” But I’m doing it a little different instead of just writing randomly I’m going to write one for everyday of the year! Okie this rambling is long enough. Happy New Year! I will stop now.

Ready for Christmas?

On the way home from dinner with my boyfriend we decided to take the streets to see all the Christmas light decorations.  Didn’t see anything interesting until I see something extremely bright coming from a neighborhood and asked my boyfriend to make a turn into it and like wow just wow! I’ve never seen a house so decorated out like this before! I have no idea how long they've been doing this but this is the first time I’ve seen this house and it is just amazing! Everything is in detail the picture doesn’t show much because I wanted to get the whole house in frame but he really went all out. There is also Christmas music in the background.  We got there just in time they turned everything off 10 minutes after we got there since it was already super late.
